Gunnars Karusell
Gunnar’s Carousel is a small, unique carousel in the forest near Drängsered in Hylte Municipality, Halland. It was built in 1974 by local craftsman Gunnar Karlsson as a place for children to play and have fun.
Over the years, the carousel has become a much-loved local spot, especially for families with children. Set in the forest, it is a simple but special place where people can spend time outdoors, play, and enjoy nature.
I’m now working to give the carousel a new look through colorful painting, hand-painted decorations, new illustrated panels, and other visual improvements inspired by the surrounding forest and local folklore.
The project is made possible with support from Hylte Municipality, Wilhelm & Martina Lundgrens Understödsfond, and Torups Byggshop, who are helping with the materials needed for the work.
The aim is to preserve this special place and make it even more inviting for the local community and for visitors discovering the inland of Halland.
